Persia is a character you will admire and want to hang out with, especially when she's getting even with her drunk ex-boyfriend when he tries to make nice after he gets out of jail. Add in a couple of good looking men vying for Persia's attention (with a little, okay a lot of, help from Aunt Florence) and a quirky best-friend and you've got an entertaining read. Overall, a recommended read.

Persia Vanderbuilt has come home to Gull Harbor, WA. After living in Seattle for years, having a nasty break-up with her ex, and suffering through a terrible job, Persia decides to pack it up and go home to her Aunt Florence. Florence raised Persia after the death of her mother, and Florence operates a dayspa for women called Venus Envy. This is perfect for Persia, who blends her own intoxicating fragrances, and now she can do it for customers.

She hasn't been in Gull Harbor too long when a mystery pops up on her radar. Lydia Wang, beauty queen and ultimate nastypants, is found murdered in Venus Envy. Lydia's ex-boyfriend, Trevor, is accused of the crime. Persia becomes all tangled up in the drama, trying to prove Trevor innocent. Can she clear his name before it's too late?

I was completely enchanted by this novel. It was definitely a cozy mystery! The characters were very real and believable, the plot was good and moved along quickly, and the story left me wanting more! It was definitely a light read, but it shouldn't be dismissed for that reason. Highly entertaining and completely endearing, this is the start of a great new series!
I was excited to start a new series with a new theme. I had not read anything with this type of theme before and was really excited. The setting was quaint and identifiable. Persia and her aunt are a great combination for owning the bath and body store. Their relationship is very unique in that they only have each other. Persia is just back to the small town from having lived away for some time, and has to work through issues of the past. Her aunt is a great reminder of the fact that things are different now.

Persia is also faced with a murder in her Aunt's story and does not want it to affect the business. Obviously this is both her and her aunt's means of financial support. Taking on trying to solve the crime herself, as she doesn't really trust the Police Chief, she also faces problems from her ex.

There are lots of recipes for bath salts and oils and suggested uses. It would be a lot of fun to whip some of these up and use during reading time. Persia is a very modern sleuth and diverse character. I liked the freshness of this aspect, as well as the theme. The story was a little slow in parts, but overall a good crime to be solved.

Recommend to those cozy reader mysteries who are looking for a new theme.
My interest was never lost reading this book. I've read other books by this author and wanted to see how this one would compare. I was not disappointed.
Yasmine Galenorn is best known for her Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series. However, her earlier paranormal mysteries are worth digging up & delving into, as well. Fun characters, interesting mysteries, and a nice blend of paranormal to make these "whodunnits" hauntingly good!
This book has a delightful title and comes from a publisher who has printed some of my favorite mysteries (i.e. Laura Childs, Cleo Coyle). This book was hard to get into and I was disappointed with what I thought was a very thin plot. Some of the dialogue was weak, although I felt the author's research into the subject was excellent.
I nice light read from my now favorite author. I read her Otherworld series first, then went back an read all these. Cute, youthful and strong female character, Persia. I enjoyed the setting, in a beauty salon. She blends custom oils and fragrances
This is one of the most fun mystery books I have ever read! Persia is the coolest person I've ever known!

Persia and her aunt own a day spa. Persia mixes fragrances. The spa was so delightful and cozy, you can almost smell the fragrances!

Someone is murdered in her shop and the mirror is missing. Persia is determined to find out who the killer is and what happened to the mirror. We go on some interesting and fun adventures in this book.

Like Persia, I also have a very sharp sense of smell, and a side effect of a strong sense of taste.
